When you’re a mega company and makes millions’ or in some case, billions of dollars a year, you need to have trust and faith in your employees. Regrettably Amazon had given both faith and trust into the wrong person. In August 2020, Kayricka Wortham began working as an operations manager, a role that gave her the authority to approve new vendors and handle vendor payments. , unfortunately Wortham took advantage of her position and engaged in fraudulent activities by creating fake vendor information. She has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for stealing more than $9.4 million from Amazon.com. Seven individuals, including Wortham, have now been charged in connection with the scheme.

Kayricka created fake vendors and submitted more than $10 million in fictitious invoices for those vendors, causing Amazon to transfer approximately $9.4 million to bank accounts controlled by her and her co-conspirators. Two of her partners are Brittany Hudson, 37, who owned one of the DSPs that contracted with the warehouse, and Demetrius Hines, 35, a loss prevention lead at multiple warehouses around Georgia, including Wortham’s.

Wortham must pay back the amount of $9,469,731.45 to Amazon, and the government will seize a total of $2,792,607.82 from her various bank accounts, her Georgia real estate property worth almost $1 million, a Lamborghini, a Dodge Durango, a Tesla Model X, a Porsche, and a Kawasaki motorcycle, all of which she allegedly purchased with the illegal proceeds. Now mind you, she will be serving prisons time for up to 16 years. I’m now sure how or if she would be able to pay back those funds.

After Ms. Wortham left Amazon in March 2022, one might have thought she would have stopped her scheming ways. However, the scheme continued, prosecutors said.

As reported by AL.com, in January, while out on bond, both Ms. Wortham and Ms. Hudson were working with a franchising company to try to open a hookah lounge, according to prosecutors. When the company asked them about the charges related to the Amazon case, Ms. Wortham and Ms. Hudson sent the company forged court documents indicating that charges had been dismissed in the case, according to prosecutors. Their bonds were revoked after the authorities learned about the forgery.

This should be a hard lesson learned for Kayricka and her partners, as well as for others who may think this is the way to go.

The report about China’s plans to expand the ban on iPhones is indeed concerning for Apple. Given that China is Apple’s largest foreign market, this move could have significant implications for the company. However, whether Apple will continue to have China produce their products in the face of this ban remains to be seen. The situation is complex, and it depends on how Apple and the Chinese government choose to navigate it.

Apple has a long-standing relationship with Chinese manufacturers, and it’s not just iPhones but also other products like iPads, iPods, and MacBooks that are produced in China. If the ban on iPhones is extended, it could potentially affect these other Apple products as well.

The decision may also depend on negotiations and potential compromises between Apple and the Chinese authorities. Apple has a vested interest in maintaining access to the Chinese market, but at the same time, it needs to address concerns raised by the Chinese government regarding privacy and security.

As for the competition from Huawei and other US technology companies, this could indeed be a factor in how the situation evolves. Apple may need to adapt its strategy in China to remain competitive.

In any case, the situation is fluid, and we’ll have to wait and see how it plays out in the coming months and years.

Hello, I really haven’t been updating my website as much simply because I’ve been in my books. I am lately finishing up what I have left for my degree and certifications in cyber security. I’ve also been working on projects with my fellow student body, building a raspberry pi network. Interestingly enough I’ve also had a few side projects in video editing and blogging. I thought I’d stop by ‘ohsnaptech’ and give it a little piece of my mind for once. I’ve been doing some essays left and right so I believe journalists may be a new venture for me as I’m very interested in writing these days.

The Microsoft / Activision deal is about to be finalized. I heard the news this afternoon while I was out enjoying myself with my family. I saw Twitter, and all of the tech web pages. I decided to check the source that would be the most credible and there it was. CNN has reported that Microsft has won the Activision deal and can close. Now I could give a fanboy perspective and I can give a consumer perspective. I rather give the consumer perspective as that would be the most intellectual argument of the two. Most people who wanted to block the merger were thinking about the small picture, the games. Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, World of Warcraft… to name a few

Above is my Battlenet and what Activision/Blizzard games look like on PC. Now as a customer of Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, I love playing my games on the computer even tho I do not buy many Sony titles or even own a PlayStation 5. I own an Xbox series X but It’s used mostly for TV purposes. The PlayStation 4 Pro is one of my favorite consoles of all time. The Dreamcast, Nintendo Switch, PS2, and Xbox 360 are all my favorites of all time. I spoiled myself over the years until I decided to go with my 1st love. The personal computer… I’ve been using a Computer since I was a child but never thought to game on them. Consoles always had a better appeal until I was introduced to PUBG and Steam back in 2018. I never looked back to consoles since.

As you can see above Sony Titles are also available for the personal computer. The only difference is you must wait a year to purchase them as Sony’s market loves to offer their games to the PC consumer a year later to entice them to buy a PlayStation. Microsoft on the other hand does the complete opposite… Which to me is better for the consumer. Gamepass is a service that offers games on the PC for a premium price point. You can access game passes on any device and not even own an Xbox. All that’s required is a great internet connection and a controller. Web browsers phones any type of device you would like to use works. I was in line standing and waiting for something at a store and I remembered I had xbox on my phone. I fired up Golden Eye and the controller inputs were displayed on the screen. I wanted in line trying to struggle to touch my phone to kill a few bad guys only to have fun struggling before I knew it, it was my turn to check out.

Microsoft is a company that is looking into the future as they are trying to reach customers that do not want to buy consoles because they do not play many games. This to me is a great market, especially for those who walk around with their faces in their phones all day. I know kids who actually walk up to adults and say “Hey do you have games on your phone?” Lol well yes I have Xbox! Watching a Kid light up asking me what do I mean Xbox? and Showing that kid he could fire up Minecraft on my phone and watching his eyes light up! The Xbox version and not the phone version.

Currently was playing Teenage mutant ninja turtles once as well, games like Redfall and Mortal Kombat 11 all on any device I decide to use. With Xbox All access we were able to get a series X for a premium price once again and paid 2 years of service for a monthly fee.

Now that I have talked about the consumer perspective where does Microsoft gain when they buy Activision? Well, they get to open their business up to the cloud services and offer more games to consumers on platforms that aren’t Xbox’s, however using Xbox services. Opinions are opinions as you can ask yourself this question, would you rather buy a console and play a game like Spiderman on PlayStation for a few hundred bucks? Or would you rather pay a price to fire up the game on a device and try the game out then decide if you want to invest your top dollar for the definitive version of that game? This is how I Shop for good games instead of buying games and hating them. Microsoft has opened the optional door, traditionally you buy a console at an expensive price for that game and pray the game is going to hold you. I’ve been disappointed in gaming doing that so much. When Microsoft introduced a game pass I opened the ability to be this type of shopper and help consumers into the cloud market as well as the small businesses investing in cloud gaming. We are leaving the past and entering the present. Sony is a company that loves tradition and tradition is always going to be difficult based on generations. Every generation we enter when children grow up on types of games they end up being stuck with what they are introduced to for the rest of their gaming careers. An example of this would be the call of duty kids wouldn’t be able to sit well with games like GoldenEye which is a treasure for men 35 and older. These types of choices do not hurt any consumers as those games will still be on PlayStation and even Nintendo consoles. Microsoft is opening the door for the nontraditional gamer…I would like to pull out the merits now:

This was inevitable, Facebook apparently breached the trust of its userbase by distributing sensitive personal data of its users to other companies. They avoid going to trial which is in the interest of people who would want to really know what companies such as Facebook do. I could only imagine being in cyber myself what’s really going on in this world with customer data and how it’s being distributed to others. There was recently a class action lawsuit open for anyone who has a facebook account between the years of 2007 – 2021. Thats pretty much everyone… if you ask me I don’t see how they are going to distribute 725M to people when the user base for Facebook is in the billions. What do I know tho? Wrestlemania weekend! Yes I attended, during that time I felt different about the product as each day went by.

Smackdown was sort of mid-show. It wasn’t really that much of an amazing experience like the first time I saw a smackdown. I wasn’t really invested because I’ve never been to a Monday Night Raw and I wanted to attend that show more than ever. Especially since I knew we had Wrestlemania tickets. So not only was I getting to attend a Monday night Raw. I was attending THEEEE Monday night Raw. The Raw after Wrestlemania.

Let me explain…

NXT Stand and Deliver did not disappoint at all. I got to witness Indi Hartwell take her first women’s championship as Dexter Lumis helped her up that ladder for her to grab the gold. Then I got to see The Rock’s daughter in a dark match debut that night. Ava Raine as she was a part of The Schism faction. They took on Chase U. Watching Johnny Gargano go to town on Grayson Waller was a sight to see in an unsanctioned match. We also got to see a NEW NXT Champion in Carmelo Hayes. HIM as he referred to himself sporting the purple and gold paying homage to the Lakers as he was in our town.

Arriving in Inglewood I really didn’t know what to expect. Seeing that stadium and stage for the first time was breathtaking.

I’m sure many of you have seen most of WrestleMania and know the results, we don’t have to rediscuss that night 1 was amazing Sami and Kevin going home with both those titles. It was night 2 that felt off, The show felt super different this day, Omos takes an L after only 3 Germans and 1 F5. I let it slide. Then ads started to just begin in a flurry. What you saw on tv happened in the arena, Non stop Ads. We get to the Hell in a Cell match and even while the cage was being lowered. There was an AD! Ok we can talk about night 1 where there was product placement for cereal during Rey and Dom’s match. We can also discuss during another match there was Taxes. We can only assume that’s because intuit (turbo tax) was building a new arena for the clippers next door. Thats fine I guess. We get to the main event and before it starts you guessed it! ADS! Cody and Roman put on a hell of a match. The outcome left the crowed losing their minds, everyone wanted Cody to take the W. This is where everything was apparent at this point.

Oh boy! here we go! We get to Monday Night Raw! The excitement for me starts. I get to my seat while Triple H is giving his speech about how WWE is not going to change as everyone in the room has heard about the merger with UFC and WWE. Welp! We quickly realized during the show this was ALL BS! Matches were trash, and Seth’s promo was cut during the show. We get a weird promo between Bianca and Rhea. Brock Lesnar is buddy-buddy with Cody all of a sudden. I seen that heel turn a mile away. After all that disappointment we all realized what has happened. Vince McMahon sold the show only to gain creative control again.

After watching this video, you can clearly see he sold it to his “best friend” or “good friend” ARI to be a great villain of the industry. These out-of-touch men are doing this for the wealth and less for the quality of the product. You can read more about this deal from Sports Illustrated as Justin Barrassd covered it the day of. April 3rd the day this all happened. Same day as that horrific Monday Night Raw.

The last I can say is WWE has filtered everything that happened that night at crypto as my crowd was a Wrestlemania crowd. We booed we cursed we even threw beach balls. WWE had security escorting people out and popped beach balls left and right. filtered all the chants on TV.

CNN has written a piece on the current state of tech news about how AI has taken most jobs in tech. This can be concerning due to AI not being able to pick up context or demeanor toward hate speech and harassment. Starting with Twitter, Musk has eliminated teams focused on security and public policy

“When Musk laid off thousands of Twitter employees following his takeover last fall, it included staffers focused on everything from security and site reliability to public policy and human rights issues. Since then, former employees, including ex-head of site integrity Yoel Roth — not to mention users and outside experts — have expressed concerns that Twitter’s cuts could undermine its ability to handle content moderation.

Months after Musk’s initial moves, some former employees at Twitch, another popular social platform, are now worried about the impacts recent layoffs there could have on its ability to combat hate speech and harassment and to address emerging concerns from AI.

One former Twitch employee affected by the layoffs and who previously worked on safety issues said the company had recently boosted its outsourcing capacity for addressing reports of violative content.”
